CHROMIUM: msr: whitelist the i915 thermal control for wrmsr
Deny all userspace MSR writes except those explicitly whitelisted for
i915 thermal controls. Without this, processes with CAP_SYS_RAWIO can
run arbitrary kernel code via MSR writing.

UPSTREAM: x86/msr: Add capabilities check
At the moment the MSR driver only relies upon file system
checks. This means that anything as root with any capability set
can write to MSRs. Historically that wasn't very interesting but
on modern processors the MSRs are such that writing to them
provides several ways to execute arbitary code in kernel space.
Sample code and documentation on doing this is circulating and
MSR attacks are used on Windows 64bit rootkits already.
In the Linux case you still need to be able to open the device
file so the impact is fairly limited and reduces the security of
some capability and security model based systems down towards
that of a generic "root owns the box" setup.
Therefore they should require CAP_SYS_RAWIO to prevent an
elevation of capabilities. The impact of this is fairly minimal
on most setups because they don't have heavy use of
capabilities. Those using SELinux, SMACK or AppArmor rules might
want to consider if their rulesets on the MSR driver could be
tighter.

CHROMIUM: spring: dts: Instantiate s5m8767 PMIC.
Note, this will enumerate multiple PMICs for the same design as the
max77686 PMIC is also enumerated via cros5250-common.dtsi. This is
remedied by the firmware (u-boot) at boot time by pruning the
non-existent PMIC.

UPSTREAM: introduce SIZE_MAX
ULONG_MAX is often used to check for integer overflow when calculating
allocation size. While ULONG_MAX happens to work on most systems, there
is no guarantee that `size_t' must be the same size as `long'.
This patch introduces SIZE_MAX, the maximum value of `size_t', to improve
portability and readability for allocation size validation.

CHROMIUM: sysrq-x: killall chrome process not just first one
Currently, sysrq-x just kills the first chrome process it finds.
We've seen in at least one occassion where there may be a stale
chrome process from a previous session. The fix is to kill all
processes we find that meet our criteria.
I also modified the printk to print the pid of the process
that is killed. Previously we were printing the pid of
session_manager which is not as useful.

CHROMIUM: watchdog: don't free perf_event on disable
When offlining a CPU, we currently free the perf_event used for
the hardlockup detector. This sometimes results in an allocation
failure when bringing the CPU back online. The hotplug code to
bring the CPU back online is run while gfp flags are masked by
pm_restrict_gfp_mask.
The end result of the allocation failure is that the watchdog no
longer works sometimes after suspend/resume. The fix is to only
disable the event and not free it. This avoids the failed allocation.

CHROMIUM: exynos: properly manage "regulator" for HSIC reset
We were violating something in the documentation for regulator_put,
namely:
Note: drivers must ensure that all regulator_enable calls made on
this regulator source are balanced by regulator_disable calls prior
to calling this function.
We now keep the regulator around until we've disabled it. That keeps
the regulator in the right state.
At the same time, add some error checking to regulator calls.

CHROMIUM: i2c: samsung: do not put a default class for the adapter
Avoid adding I2C_CLASS_HWMON and I2C_CLASS_SPD class flags to all
Samsung I2C adapters when the I2C mappings are defined in a device tree.
So the drivers doing an auto-detection by probing busses won't mess-up
sensitive I2C devices or trigger long timeouts on non-functional busses.

UPSTREAM: cpuidle: remove the power_specified field in the driver
We realized that the power usage field is never filled and when it
is filled for tegra, the power_specified flag is not set causing all
of these values to be reset when the driver is initialized with
set_power_state().
However, the power_specified flag can be simply removed under the
assumption that the states are always backward sorted, which is the
case with the current code.
This change allows the menu governor select function and the
cpuidle_play_dead() to be simplified. Moreover, the
set_power_states() function can removed as it does not make sense
any more.
Drop the power_specified flag from struct cpuidle_driver and make
the related changes as described above.
As a consequence, this also fixes the bug where on the dynamic
C-states system, the power fields are not initialized.

CHROMIUM: xhci: crude USB resume fix for Stout (temporary)
Stout's USB 3.0 ports show a variety of nasty issues after resume, some
of which are more reproducible than others. They all have in common that
the host controller bails with "Device not responding to set address."
during enumeration. A trace pulled from a USB cable showed that the host
controller just fills the bus with garbage and does not even generate
correct SOF sequences.
This seems like a large and time-consuming problem that could hide
anywhere in the USB software or hardware stack. With Stout being close
to release, we need an interim solution to make it usable while we find
the underlying problem.
This patch sets the XHCI_RESET_ON_RESUME quirk flag on Stout, which
makes device reenumeration after resume work, but it creates a new
issue that makes the host controller hang on the next suspend while
trying to save its state. This looks like an unrelated hardware bug...
but since we don't actually need to save state when we will reset
anyway, we can just add some code to skip that step in xhci_suspend().
This patch is intended to be temporary, and should be reverted as soon
as the root cause for this is found and fixed.

CHROMIUM: pm-check: Don't free memory after each resume
Once you use your device for a significant period of time pm_check
starts failing. This may have gotten worse recently with compressed
RAM. Change pm-check to avoid freeing memory between suspend/resume.
While I'm at it, also over-allocate pm-check memory a little bit to
make sure that normal memory doesn't overlap CRC memory. This ensures
that more in-use memory is actually checked for errors.

read-only firmware and see pm_check work.

UPSTREAM: mwifiex: fix incomplete scan in case of IE parsing error
A scan request is split into multiple scan commands queued in
scan_pending_q. Each scan command will be sent to firmware and
its response is handlded one after another.
If any error is detected while parsing IE in command response
buffer the remaining data will be ignored and error is returned.
We should check if there is any more scan commands pending in
the queue before returning error. This ensures that we will call
cfg80211_scan_done if this is the last scan command, or send
next scan command in scan_pending_q to firmware.

We have gathered all we need to know from this. The problem was in shill
and we have changed that to properly crash instead of silently fail. The
kernel netlink stack seems to work fine as it is and we don't need this
output anymore.

BACKPORT: tpm: Add support for new Infineon I2C TPM (SLB 9645 TT 1.2 I2C)
This driver adds support for Infineon's new SLB 9645 TT 1.2 I2C TPMs,
which supports clockstretching, combined reads and a bus speed of
up to 400khz. The device also has a new device id.
The driver works now also fine with device trees, so you can instantiate
your device by adding:

On Spring, the I2S0 clock is connected to MCLK2/GPIO3 instead of MCLK1.
Explicitly configure the pin on boards I have tested and let the sane
default value (MCLK1 as before) for others.

When the CPU is loaded and the GPU tries to switch RC6p modes, the GPU
sometimes gets stuck in RC6p mode and doesn't come out of it. I suspect
that our voltage rail is too weak and sometimes falls behind.
This change throttles down the number of RC6p transitions we do to appease it.
The change also disables clock gating which seems to help. Upstream commit
which does that is 0f846f81a154cc1818416918d22939bda73da194
(drm/i915: disable RCBP and VDS unit clock gating on SNB and VL)
I tested this on multiple Link machines for hours. The number of RC6 problems
went down from ~ one every 15 minutes to ~ one every 25 hours. So this is not
a complete solution, but I suspect there might be another, more difficult to
reproduce, problem. In any case it reduces the issue significantly, to the
point where we might be able to forget about it.
I measured the power usage on idle before/after this patch and saw no
difference. Obviously when the GPU load varies, it will consume more power
since it now takes more time to adapt.
Also note that not all machines seem to react equally. Some crash fairly
often, and some less often. So this will improve the situation to different
extents for different people.

arm: exynos: Fix the ISP Power down sequence
This totally moves the ISP power down configuration to its own
function so we can make sure power sequencing is exactly as the
Samsung HW team suggests. At the moment we're not using the ISP for
anything, so this should be fine.
Following is the suggested power down sequence for ISP:
- 0x10042288 --> 0x10000 (ISP A5 Disable WFE)
- 0x10042280 --> 0x0 (ISP A5 Power Off)
- 0x10041584 --> 0x0 (SYS_PWR_CFG off for CMU_RESET_ISP)
- 0x10044020 --> 0x0 (ISP Block Power Off)
Before this patch our order looks more like:
- 0x10044020 --> 0x0 (ISP Block Power Off)
- 0x10042280 --> 0x0 (ISP A5 Power Off)
- 0x10042288 --> 0x0 (ISP A5 Disable WFI / WFE)

We now match the suggested order except that we actually write
0x10042288 as 0x0 to disable WFE and WFI. This matches what was set
to the register before this patch and has been OKed by the Samsung LSI
hardware team.

comment #71 to test on a device that had suspend/resume problems
without this.
This patch caused a deadlock between khubd and the suspend process.
This was reliably reproducible when we did a suspend immediately after
a resume, and the khubd kernel thread was busy probing USB devices.
The sequence was that khubd would be running and probing USB devices
when we try to suspend and the freezer would activate, and eventually
khubd would call request_firmware() while holding a device lock, and
request_firmware would call usermodehelper_read_trylock().
Because the UMH is in state UMH_FREEZING, usermode_helper_read_trylock
would end up calling try_to_freeze() and would then be frozen while
holding a device lock. After the freezer finished, it would then try
to suspend each device and would deadlock on the USB hub device that
was being held by khubd.
Reverting this merely results in a WARN_ON from request_firmware() and
no deadlock, and upon the subsequent resume, khubd will successfully
get the firmware and the devices work correctly.

CHROMIUM: media: tuners: init fw and hw ids to 0 in xc4000.c
In xc4000.c's check_firmware() function, these variables are later
initialized by passing them to xc_get_version() as pointers. However,
this results in a compile error that these are not initialized since it
is not explicit.
This patch initializes them to zero. These may or may not be valid
values, but these variables are not used unless xc_get_version() returns
successfully so their initial values aren't important anyway.
I sent this upstream. It may or may not get accepted, but the directory
structure has changed, so this patch won't apply cleanly when we move to
kernel-next.

CHROMIUM: drm/exynos: dp: Add force_connected flag
Add a new flag to the DisplayPort platform data to optionally force
is_connected to return true. This is useful for cases such as ours where
we don't have a proper DP monitor connected, but rather a noisy bridge
that doesn't know when it's actually ready to assert hotplug.
This will also prevent drm from assuming we're disconnected and detaching
our encoder from the connector (thus losing us forever as a result of
the interrupt scheme in the driver, which needs to be fixed).

UPSTREAM: /proc/pid/status: add "Seccomp" field
It is currently impossible to examine the state of seccomp for a given
process. While attaching with gdb and attempting "call
prctl(PR_GET_SECCOMP,...)" will work with some situations, it is not
reliable. If the process is in seccomp mode 1, this query will kill the
process (prctl not allowed), if the process is in mode 2 with prctl not
allowed, it will similarly be killed, and in weird cases, if prctl is
filtered to return errno 0, it can look like seccomp is disabled.
When reviewing the state of running processes, there should be a way to
externally examine the seccomp mode. ("Did this build of Chrome end up
using seccomp?" "Did my distro ship ssh with seccomp enabled?")
This adds the "Seccomp" line to /proc/$pid/status.

provides 20dB of additional input gain when using the built-in digital
microphone.
This should be changed to export a control to user-space, but keep it

UPSTREAM: SCSI & usb-storage: add try_rc_10_first flag
Several bug reports have been received recently for USB mass-storage
devices that don't handle READ CAPACITY(16) commands properly. They
report bogus sizes, in some cases becoming unusable as a result.
The bugs were triggered by commit 09b6b51b0b6c1b9bb61815baf205e4d74c89ff04 (SCSI & usb-storage: add
flags for VPD pages and REPORT LUNS), which caused usb-storage to stop
overriding the SCSI level reported by devices. By default, the sd
driver will try READ CAPACITY(16) first for any device whose level is
above SCSI_SPC_2.
It seems likely that any device large enough to require the use of
READ CAPACITY(16) (i.e., 2 TB or more) would be able to handle READ
CAPACITY(10) commands properly. Indeed, I don't know of any devices
that don't handle READ CAPACITY(10) properly.
Therefore this patch (as1559) adds a new flag telling the sd driver
to try READ CAPACITY(10) before READ CAPACITY(16), and sets this flag
for every USB mass-storage device. If a device really is larger than
2 TB, sd will fall back to READ CAPACITY(16) just as it used to.
This fixes Bugzilla #43391.

HACK: arm: exynos: Force 0.8x instead of bypass for VDD_INT
Increase the INT voltage margins for all speed groups. According to
the h/w guys at Samsung this is fine except for a power increase. At
the moment this is considered an interrim (but safe) fix while Samsung
looks for a root cause.
Side notes:
* ABB 1.0x appears to work better than bypass (which makes no sense)
but still doesn't work as well as ABB 0.8x (this patch).
* ABB 1.2x also appears to work. It ran 690 cycles of the test below
before I stopped it.
* Leaving ABB off and increasing VDD_INT also appears to work to some
extent, but not as well as this patch.

1. Reboot
2. suspend_stress_test -c5 --backup_rtc

With this patch I went through 728 cycles of the above with no
hangs at suspend. Testing was done via an init script that is
attached at comment #71 of the referenced bug.

HID: magicmouse: Set multi-touch keybits for Magic Mouse
The driver emits multi-touch events for Magic Trackpad as well as Magic
Mouse, but it does not set keybits that are related to multi-touch event
for Magic Mouse; so set these keybits.
The keybits that are not set cause trouble because user programs often
probe these keybits for self-configuration and thus they cannot operate
properly if the keybits are not set.

CHROMIUM: HACK: drm/i915: Don't warn on pin_count < 0
We've had some warnings on resume with an external monitor connected
where the pin_count for the fb's fence register is less than zero. After
some analysis, we're unpinning it twice on resume, once via set_base on
mode_set and then again when we do an rmfb from userspace.
The warning isn't terribly interesting when pin_count is less than zero,
and the relevant code has been refactored upstream such that it's likely
not an issue any longer.
This hack avoids warning when pin count is negative.

CHROMIUM: Input: atmel_mxt_ts : On Tpads, enable T42, disable T19 on suspend
To work around an issue where an idle-suspended system may wake
unnecessarily when the lid is closed because the B panel comes close to
the trackpad, enable touch suppression (t42) when suspending. Also
disable T19, for the button, to allow the button to be pressed if
the case is flexed without the system waking.

This script can be used to add known smatch errors for new boards to the
smatch error whitelist. It runs the kernel build and check for each new
board and aggregates the new errors into a log file.

BACKPORT: fs: ecryptfs: initialize payload_len in keystore.c
This is meant to remove a compiler warning. It should not make any
functional change.
payload_len should be initialized when it is passed to
write_tag_64_packet() as a pointer. If that call fails, this function
should return early, and payload_len won't be used.

CHROMIUM: drm/exynos: fix refcounting in hdmi (mixer) path
Previously, if two fbs were ready to be flipped during the same
vblank, the kds_callback would drop the frame which came earlier
and call apply on the later frame. This worked fine on fimd but
caused problems on hdmi (mixer). The mixer will only accept one
apply call per vblank and ignore calls after that.
Since, we already applied the earlier frame, the mixer would
ignore the later frame. So the mixer flips the earlier fb while
the refcounting code thinks we are flipping the later fb. So the
ref for the earlier fb gets dropped even though its the scanout
fb. This can cause an IOMMU page fault.
The fix is to hold the later fb in an extra slot and then flip
to it on the next vblank.
In order, to allow calling apply from finish_page_flip, I had to
re-structure mixer_irq_handler in order to avoid spinlock
recursion on reg_slock.

UPSTREAM: mwifiex: correction in status codes used for association failure
When AP responds with appropriate status code, we forward that
code correctly to cfg80211. But sometimes when there is no
response from AP, our firmware uses proprietary status codes.
We will map authentication timeout to WLAN_STATUS_AUTH_TIMEOUT
and other proprietary codes to WLAN_STATUS_UNSPECIFIED_FAILURE.

The fb itself already takes a reference for all of its gem objects when
it is created, and releases them last when it is destroyed. Taking an
additional reference when the gem objects are mapped into device memory,
which only happens when the fb is created, seems redundant.

drm/i915: Honor i915_min_freq post resume
The i915_min_freq setting was not getting honored on the resume path.
Fixed it.

TEST="cat /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_min_freq" and remember the value
returned. Do a suspend/resume cycle. cat the i915_min_freq file again,
it must return the same value as read earlier.
Note that the directory structure has changed upstream, so that patch
does not apply to kernel-3.4 anymore.

Reiplace HDMI unplug polling with HPD line reading.
It looked as if this didn't work at the HW level, but it actually does.
Polling cost us about 100mW if an HDMI monitor was attached.
This also responds more quickly to unplugging.

CHROMIUM: Add file containing known smatch errors
This file contains the known smatch errors in the kernel. Currently it
contains only the errors from i386 boards (i.e. 32-bit x86). In the
future we should add errors from x86_64 and arm boards.
